The horns of the ram are a recurring motif in Armenian ornaments. In Armenian symbolism, they are a totem representing prosperity and fruitfulness. Carpet-makers owe most of all for their craft to Aries. The apple symbolizes fertility, love, joy, knowledge, wisdom, deification, luxury, as well as deception and death. The apple with its rounded shape represents wholeness and unity, symbolizing also immortality. In some cultures it represents the fruit of the Tree of Life, a symbol of life and original sin.
